Saddle UpR for St. Jude Extreme Trail Event to raise funds for kids battling cancer
Horseback riders are getting ready to rope in funds for St. Judes Children’s Research HospitalR through a Saddle Up for St. Jude event. St. Jude is one of the worlds’ premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic childhood disease, and the top children’s cancer hospital in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report.
The Extreme Trail Event will be hosted by the Whistlin’ Bit Saddle Club on August 27, 2011 at 10 a.m. sharp and will be held at the Elkader Sale Barn Bottom across from the City Park. Only the first paid 50 riders will be able to compete at the event.
St. Jude depends on community-based fundraising programs like Saddle Up for St. Jude. At St. Jude, families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance and no child is ever denied treatment because of the family’s inability to pay. St. Jude has treated children from all 50 states and around the globe. The hospital freely shares its discoveries with scientific and medical communities worldwide.
The Whistlin’ Bit Saddle Club would like to thank all of the area businesses and volunteers that have donated time, supplies or money for this event.
